RAHS still moving ahead with fall sports season

Reedsburg Area High School has announced its continuing plans for a fall sports season amid COVID-19.

Sports considered low-risk, such as girls golf, girls tennis and cross country, will begin practice on Aug. 17. Sports deemed medium to high risk due to players being in closer proximity will have practice beginning Sept. 7. These include boys soccer, volleyball and football.

Officials already expect the season to be shorter and have fewer contests due to practices getting a late start.

Reedsburg is part of the Badger Conference, in which some schools are attempting to have all fall sports.

Fans are advised that the sports calendar on the RAHS website may not be accurate, so it’s best to follow social media postings and news for the latest updates. Events on the calendar can’t be deleted because schools need to still have their officials booked and ready.

The RAHS Activities Department is working with Reedsburg Area Medical Center, the Sauk County Health Department, other school districts and coaches to maintain safety.
