Energy Services for Adams County

Energy Services, Inc, the energy assistance program contact, is located at 514 Main Street in Friendship. Executive Director and founder of this non-profit, Timothy Bruer, is passionate about the services it provides to Adams County.   It is the fact that many people have to choose between paying for utilizes and food, or paying for medical care that makes Bruer passionate about helping people in our community.  And once again, Energy Services, Inc. is coming to the assistance of the Adams County community.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Department of Administration has adjusted the eligibility requirements for residents who are seeking heating and electric assistance through the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP).  Energy Services is reaching out to households who may have not applied before.  To respond to immediate unmet needs spurred on by  COVID- 19, income eligibility requirements have been modified to include a one month income test rather than the previous three months of income.  This move was made to ensure those who are recently affected by the COVID-19 response are able to receive assistance quickly.

If you are recently unemployed, received a lay off or disconnection notice and are having difficulty paying your energy bills, the DOA Home Energy Plus program may have additional resources available. Crisis assistance, emergency fuel assistance, and emergency heating system repair and replacement for eligible homeowners may also be available based on household need.

Application can be completed online and applicants can call Energy Services for Adams County at 608-339-6767 to get started and see how they can help you with your energy needs.
