MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury College President Laurie L. Patton presented the Bonnie and John McCardell Citizen’s Awards for outstanding community service to State Rep. Betty A. Nuovo, D-Middlebury, and posthumously to David M. Sears, the Cornwall public servant and voice of Middlebury College athletic teams. BRISTOL — Classic car owners were in for a treat at the 12th annual Better L8 Than Never car show, held on Sept. 25 in Bristol. The event is co-hosted by the Addison County Chamber of Commerce and the Snake Mountain Cruisers, a Vermont classic car club based in New Haven. SHALLOTTE, N.C. — David Jon Bodette passed away peacefully at home, Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, surrounded by family and love. David was born on May 5, 1960 in Middlebury, Vt. He was the son of Raymond “Bud” Bodette, Jr. and Alice (Tucker) Bodette and grew up in Addison. He graduated from Vergennes Union High School in 1978, and enjoyed working on the family farm alongside his father and brothers. He then began a long career as a Plant Manager with Blue Seal Feeds before relocating to North Carolina in 2012, where he was in the insurance business. NEW HAVEN, Vt. — Caroline “Kerrin” Warren, 92, a native Vermonter and former resident of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Aug. 28, 2016,in Concord, Mass. She lived at Rivercrest, the skilled nursing facility of Newbury Court, a retirement community to which she and her husband moved in 2009. GRESHAM, Ore. / MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — Andre P. Spenard, 65, of Gresham, Ore., passed away on Sept. 17, 2016. He was born in Colchester, Vt. on Aug. 29, 1951. He attended Middlebury Union High School. He worked in home construction prior to becoming a Real Estate Appraiser/Investor. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as skiing, camping, golf, travel and spending time with friends and family (including the family dogs).
