Thomas M.  Hagen, 76, of Benson, Minnesota passed away Friday afternoon, October 23 at his home in Benson. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation continued Wednesday, October 28, from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in the Benson City Cemetery.

Thomas Michael Hagen was born at home in Benson, September 6, 1944. He was the son of Albert Gustav and Myrtle Helen (Ellingson) Hagen. He was baptized November 19, 1947 by Pastor M.G. Berg at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Benson. He was confirmed May 25, 1958 by Rev. Val Hergeshemer at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson. He grew up and attended School in Benson.

December 23, 1967, he was united in marriage to D. LoAnn Bridgland by the Rev. James Meischner at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson. Tom served his country by enlisting in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969, during the Vietnam War. Upon his return to Benson, he worked for Tyler Manufacturing in Benson and for Industrial Sand Blasting in Willmar, before returning to work at CNH in Benson for over 43 years. He also worked at the Benson Bowler for a few years.

Tom enjoyed bowling, golfing, and hunting. He watched the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, and the Wild. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed watching his kids and grandchildren play all kinds of sports. He was called from this life Friday afternoon, October 23, 2020, at his home in Benson. He attained the age of 76 years, one month, and 17 days.

Tom is survived by his wife LoAnn Hagen of Benson; his daughter Wanda (Jason) Huettl of Clara City; a daughter in law Krista Hagen of Benson; three grandchildren: Tracy and Tyler Huettl, and Noah Hagen; siblings: Alvina Amundson of Willmar, Marlow Hagen of Boise, Idaho, Jerry (Pat) Hagen of Benson, Lillian (Valgene) Molden of Benson, Connie (Paul) Flaten of Swift Falls, his twin sister Teresa (Paul) Johnson of Marana, Arizona, Sally (Vern) Bierbaum of Willmar, Peter Hagen of Willmar, Ronald (Pat) Hagen of Willmar, Lonnie (Sharon) Hagen of Benson, and  Julie (Paul) Anderson of New London; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Myrtle Hagen, a sister Barbara Quinn, a brother Albert and his wife Karri Hagen, and a son Wayne Hagen in March of 2020. Blessed be his memory.
