Benson, KMS reach agreement on cooperative

After months of discussion, the sports cooperative agreement between Benson Public Schools and Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (KMS) has finally been approved.

It calls for KMS to pay an additional $25,000 fee annually to support facility costs in Benson. At the same time, it puts in writing the desire of KMS to see cross country practices alternated between Benson and Kerkhoven. It also expresses KMS’ future goal of possibly seeing the track or tennis programs moving to Kerkhoven.

KMS Supt. Martin Heidelberger said Thursday he was mailing the sports cooperative agreement back to Benson with the terms that were proposed. That agreement was approved by the Benson School Board Monday night...
